The original American Idol is back with a new album, a new look, and a new attitude.  Kelly Clarkson is about to turn thirty in just a few days, April 24 to be exact, which hopefully for the fans means another great decade of music from her.  The new album is full of angst, which makes me wonder who would wrong such a sweet and down to earth girl so badly.  In April’s issue of Elle magazine Kelly says “What’s funny is that most times I don’t even write about a boyfriend…A lot of it is about work relationships.”(Elle, April 10, 2012)  One thing Kelly does know is how to make every woman feel that you can get through anything, whether it is a bad breakup or even an ended friendship.  Her music has a way of acting like a therapy session.  Her newest album Stronger has more of a rock feel to it with heavy guitars and drums which would be nothing without the pitch perfect notes that only Clarkson can hit.  The album is evenly balanced with the rock songs by placing a couple ballads with so much honesty in each one; you can’t help but be moved by both the lyrics and her incredible vocals. Kelly is more than just a one trick pony, she also lends her writing talent to the album.  She wrote or helped write about half of the album, songs include: You Love Me, Standing in Front of You, Hello, Let Me Down, You Can’t Win, and Don’t Be a Girl About It.   This album is one that can be listened to over and over again; trust me it’s be on repeat quite a few times for me.  Kelly just finished up her Stronger Tour, only to come back with a new reality singing show Duets; a show that will feature Kelly herself singing along with her chosen partners for the week.  She is also co-headlining a 30-plus city tour with The Fray.  Talk about being busy, she is the epitome of it.  Stronger is well worth buying so what are you waiting for, go over to iTunes and buy it, trust me you won’t be disappointed.
